Need a transmission

I just got a 1998 impreza with a 5 speed manual transmission and the transmission needs to be replaced what transmissions can be used on this the wrecking yard said 1997 to 1998 impreza only any help would be great

I just saw this posting. Last summer, my son needed a rebuilt transmission in his 2011 Impreza Sport with a manual transmission. While they had it, the clutch and throw out bearing were also replaced. The work was done in a transmission shop and cost $3,800. It's fine now with 146,000 miles. I hope your Subaru is also healthy
