Low Brake Pedal

I suspect this a generic problem not a " subaru isse " . Anyway.......my
daughters 97 Legacy L 2.2 ABS four wheel disc. Pedal has alot of travel to
it before braking is effective. It is not spongy - no air etc....just takes
a bit more travel than I like. I never had such an issue with 4 wheel
discs........What is the move here? Nothing to adjust is there ?

Purge all the old fluid and start fresh.
Braided steel brake lines in place of the rubber lines will harden up
the pedal also.

Turn the rod that goes in the master cylinder to
adjust the pedal engagement height. You'll have to
loosen a lock nut first.

I have no idea why Subaru ships their cars with
such a low pedal engagement.
