Has anyone else experienced any of these issues?

1) When I try to start the car, it says "key not detected" but the key is right there, 12" away, in the cup holder. I will try again and it will find the key.

2) Key fob in my left hand, I try to open the car door with my right hand. It might take 3 pulls to open the door.

3) I start the car. Navigation on the screen in front of the steering wheel does not fire up. Just a black screen. Not "loading". Just black. CarPlay navigation is unaffected.

4) Car occasionally does not detect a car behind me when I am backing out of a parking space.

5) I start the car, put in reverse and back up, then put car in drive. No throttle. I turn the car off then on again and all is well.

6) I start the car. All lights fire up on the display behind my steering wheel. Lights on the shift knob panel are lit. I can shift among the gears but there is no throttle. Can't back up. Can't go forward. No warning messages or lights. I turn the car off then on again and all is well.

I've documented everything (date, time, incident) and taken it to Subaru dealership. They can replicate some of the issues (they say it's a "known problem" not not all issues.

WTF should I do next? Problems keep happening. Has anyone else experienced any of these issues. I hope to hear from some of you with similar issues and resolutions. Thank you!

These annoying issues can manifest into some serious issues! I can see that these electrical bugs may never ever be able to be solved.

Several options. Trade her in on something else, or the same make vehicle, only newer, and save yourself a bunch of grief.

If you can't do the above, take it to the dealership with your write ups, telling them 'I don't want the vehicle back until all these things are fixed'. After, I believe, 30 days at the dealership you will have a case for them buying back the car. Its called the Lemon Law. Verify your state has a vehicle Lemon Law first. Also, contact and retain a Lemon Law Attorney. You may have to rent a vehicle whilst yours is in the shop..... Good luck!

Thanks Lou. I agree on all points. My state has a great Lemon Law and I've used it twice, so I know the drill. I've owned the car for 6 moths, bought it new, so I'm within the guidelines. I'm documenting everything and visiting the dealership to accrue my "30 days in service". I really don't want to Lemon Law this car but I also don't want to live with these issues.

I took it to the dealership yesterday with 3 new issues. Not good.

Thanks for replying to me.

This is why I stay with my 2020 Outback with 4.2 k now will never buy another Subaru not made in the USA but in Japan
perhaps you need to upgrade the software from your car with engine on and from a wifi connection upgrade from there i did it in this year it work fine after updating no need to the dealer will charge you $200 or more it's should be free well we living in a greed system now I'm not connecting anything like cellphone or other device (i don't use the MAP either use the standard map from AAA LOL ) that as a web connection, and will never. Only the updating firmware. so they won't trace you for data money machine system $$$$$. i use the radio FM and the fan I use this car like my old Honda 2002 Civic EX no electronics 5 years no issues with battery or windshield broken even rear as well this is why i will buy a JAPAN MADE.

You should take it in and have the DCM checked or changed. My car doesn't allow wifi map updates with a message saying my map update license could not be verified. The DCM controls everything you have mentioned.

Sorry, mine is a 2016 car but the GPS wasn't working correctly and Subaru garage supervisor told me he didn't know anything about GPS and I would have to fix it myself. Went to another dealer and they installed a new GPS since it was still under warranty. Later found out this was a well-known problem. Don't know if they get a kick back every time they don't fix something under warranty but some supervisors are better than others.
