Hey everyone,

I’m fairly new to the Subaru world but have been loving my 2015 WRX since I got it about a year ago. It’s been an absolute blast to drive, especially on winding roads, but now I’m thinking about upgrading a few things to get a bit more performance and better handling without breaking the bank.

I’ve been researching some bolt-on upgrades like a cat-back exhaust, cold air intake, and maybe even a tune, but there’s so much info out there that I wanted to hear directly from folks who know these cars well. Specifically:
  • What are some of the best cost-effective mods that actually make a noticeable difference in daily driving and occasional spirited runs?
  • Have you had good experiences with any particular brands or aftermarket parts?
  • Any tips for maintaining reliability while pushing a bit more power?
  • Also curious if anyone has tried upgrading suspension components like coilovers or sway bars and how that changed the ride and handling feel.
I’m planning to keep the car mostly street-driven but would love to dial in some better responsiveness and maybe a bit more aggressive sound without it being obnoxious. Also, I’ve been considering taking some azure training in chennai to expand my skills alongside working on the car.

Would appreciate any and all advice, recommendations, or personal experiences. If you have pics of your WRX mods, definitely share those too — always fun to see what others have done!

Thanks in advance, and looking forward to joining the community discussions here.

Welcome. My big question is...a noticeable difference in what? What is it that you're trying to accomplish?

Unless you're racing a lot, coilovers will make it suck more...certainly a noticeable difference.

Exhaust changes can make more power and more noise, both noticeable. :) Your neighbors and fellow drivers may/will hate you.

There is a strong WRX/STI showing online with performance info. You aren't likely to find much of that knowledge here. Sorry!
