HI all, I've had Subarus for 13 years now, a 1998 Forester (I bought it used in 2007) that I gave to my son in 2016 and who drove it until just a few months ago. It was great little vehicle--best car I've ever driven in snow! My 2009 Legacy, which I just loved, was vandalized recently, and the insurance company totaled it. I'm getting a nice settlement, as it didn't lose much value over the 4 years I've had it, but I'm SO torn about what to replace it with. I really could use cargo space, so I'm looking at newer Foresters. I'm interest in a 2015 with almost 90k miles on it. I know these cars go forever, but am a little concerned about that mileage.
My main question, and I did look around the forums before posting here, is whether the head-gasket problem is any better in the newer models. I understand they changed the engine slightly, but don't know if that helped this long-standing problem. OTOH, I feel so safe in a Subaru. (I sound like a commercial.) I love the visibility, all the airbags it has, etc.
