Life of center differential?

V

Victor Roberts

I have a '95-speed OBW (2.5L engine I believe) I thought that the
center differential should last "forever" or at least 200K miles,
which ever comes first :), but comments in other posts indicate that
a life of 80K to 90K miles is not that unusual. I have about 95K mi on
the car. Should I be concerned?

Consumers Reports survey results show on problems with the drivelines that
have center differential or not. Ed

It is very important to run the same circumference tires on all 4 corners to
insure long life of the center diff. Different circumference tires cause
the center diff to slip leading to early failure. It is important to rotate
tires frequently to keep circumference the same. Jeff
