Joined the Subaru family with a 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness!

After two fairly disastrous years with a 2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, I saw the light and got a Subaru. I picked up a 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness with some good options on it!

My Jeep could get me literally anywhere in the Rockies which was great. But after a clutch recall/replacement, multiple dealership issues, and most recently body corrosion due to a manufacturer defect not covered by warranty, I'd had enough. The Jeep was only ~5 years old with 20,000 miles, so pervasive corrosion was totally unacceptable.

So, I may not be able to drive *everywhere* anymore, but the whole point was the hiking, not the driving. Here are a few photos from Thursday:

I purchased one as well, on October 26, 2024 in Sun Blaze Metallic. Option Package 23 had been added, along with a few other accessories.

Nicely done! Other than the acceleration, I love everything else about it.

Alpine Green! All my life I’ve wanted a nice green car, and finally found one on my 2024 Crosstrek.
I didn’t even mind paying a premium for the color. And my neighborhood now includes an Audi, a BMW, and a Rivian that are all basically the same shade of green.
I am very happy. And the power from the engine is OK, I can cruise very comfortably at 80 mph, and I’ve had it faster, but my speed demon days are beyond me, so I’m OK.
