.....in charitable 3rd world 'micro loans' at Kiva

The North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club (NASIOC) has a team at
Kiva.

Basically, you use payPal to loan $25 increments to developing country
entrepreneurs who will pay back your account in a year +/- a few
months. Loan to other gearheads, or taxi drivers or target woman-owned
businesses or specific countries, etc. You won't make any interest -
but you will help people help themselves.

A loan is made about every 22 seconds and Kiva is on track to loan
over $40,000,000 this year.

Ummm, I think I would rather loan my money to US small businesses.
They can use the help these days.

In reality, all of my available funds are being sent to the University
of Delaware.

I'm pretty sure you can do that over at prosper.com . I've read that
Kiva may offer US loan opportunities in the future. Kiva is not the only
micro-finance org around.
