even before i locked the steering wheel the key would not turn. I then locked the steering wheel, turning the steering wheel again as I simultaneously attempted to turn the key in hopes it would "unlock" the ignition. It did not. I've seen videos and some are drilling holes, replacing etc. Does anyone have any words of wisdom?

Thank you

Ed

The tumblers are broken
There is a way called "bump key"
You take small vise grips to the key and hold it tight
Move the key towards start or run and of course it will not move
Keep constant pressure using the vise grips
Smack the end of the key with a kitchen hammer (small hammer)
Rap it several times with the hammer, at some point the key will turn
Make sure the steering lock is not fighting you
In this business the day you quit learning is the day you die
I learned this trick from a savvy tow truck driver
Research bump key
Order a new ignition lockset

Sounds like what he said.

Curious how many miles are on it and if it is highway use or city. City gets a lot more key turns. :)
