Do I have this right--you purchased a brand new $25,000 car that you
think is "so blaaugh?"

Dare I ask why? Financed for 5 years?

On a more constructive note, one thing to keep in mind in your
modifications: one man's "pimping" is most others' "substantial
reduction in resale value." If however you're a cradle to grave owner
(i.e. you are going to realistically drive it till it dies), go nuts.
Pimp away!

Best Regards,

A giant wing? XBoxes and screens all over the place? Rims that keep
spinning when you stop?

Actually, I paid cash. When my wife passed away last year, I needed a
reliable wagon for me and my children.

I'm very sorry for your loss. When I played the odds on "doesn't like
his brand new car, wants to pimp it out" certainly didn't paint a
picture of a 'widower with kids.' Sorry bout that.

But I still stand by my desire to spare the world of non-performance
enhancing modifications to what amounts to a glorified station wagon.
We can run but we can't hide from the immutable fact that we're men
driving station wagons. :)

Heck, toss a couple bike racks on the roof. A cargo frame. Run
around with some kayaks up there all the time. It'll make it all
looks sportier and more interesting while maintaining resale. Maybe
ya get some outdoor activities in too.

Best Regards,

No problem Todd. I was actually thinking about bug deflector and trim.
Nothing too, too flashy.

Ah, that's not terribly pimp. Sylishly appointed. :)

The bug deflectors look cool and if my car's any indicator, protection
on that leading edge certainly wouldn't hurt.

Hey Todd, I noticed you are from Chicago. I used to live in Elk Grove
Village about 30 years ago. I loved it there.
I now live in Rhode Island.

I live in RI, too. I wish I had put the bug deflector on my 7.5-year old
OBW. The hood is pretty sandblasted by now.

Hi Bob, I just hope that you don't go to Capital Subaru in Pawtucket for
service. They are the most incompetent group of idiots I have ever seen.
Apparently, customer service isn't part of their vocabulary.

Well, I have 05 OBW, and I have:

1. Optional MOMO knob on the shifter (it's automatic shifter). It looks
really cool.
2. Bug deflector (excellent for skiing and deflect sand)
3. Cargo net (really convenient)
4. Bike rack with the middle wing and Subaru log on it (I actually got Subi
rails and installed rack which requires removing front bike wheel)
5. Rubber floor mat kit = perfect for muddy feet after skiing

I noticed one car with a paint job that changed colors as I looked at
it from different angles.
Put a few decals on it maybe?

Dealer (and none-dealer for the fraction of the price) can put 3M protective
film on your car. It's clear and suppose to be very tough for nicks and
scratches.
I saw it, looks very good, does not change the color though

It's much more masculine to be Euro-Chic driving a better performing,
safer wagon than American penis-envying slow, heavy, poor handling,
slower stopping SUV.

Proud WRX Wagon owner
Faster, Safer, can hold more cargo and tow more than every "SUV"
(Really just a raised Wagon model of a compact car in their line) I
can think of in it's price range.
