How to Update Maps on 2024 Legacy XT

I have an account and my car is still within the 3 year free map updates. I can download the new Map to my a new USB on my computer, but I cannot figure out how to install the darn thing on the car. It asks for an "activation Code" that I cannot find. I can find instruction on how to find the code to ASK for an activation code, on the car's screen, but not how to get the darn code.

What a compete BS system. That alone would stop me from buying another Subaru! Terrible software written by incompetent people for 13 year old kids it seems.

I finally figured it out and have it updating now, but what a miserable pain to do it. It took me about 10 tries before I could get it going. It seems that Subaru is so concerned about a few people pirating their Tom Tom Go Map updates, that they are PUNISHING EVERY LIGITAMET PURCHASER / USER! A Disgusting attitude. I own a 2023 and 2024 Subaru. My next cars will NOT be Subaru's because of that attitude.
