How to sell a Subaru?

H

hgh

Greetings,
I purchased a 98 Forester with the idea of selling it. It had blown
headgaskets and other problems. Having fix then and test driven for
about 2000 miles, I would like to sell it. These are unique vehicle.
What is the best way to go about selling it.
Thanks,
Herb

ebay

Nah, no different than any other car. Classifieds in your local paper
or auto trader magazine, where all the other used cars get listed.

Or take some digital pictures and throw together a personal web page
on a free web page place like yahoo geocities and send a link to it in
an email to all your friends.... Sold my last 2 cars that way.

Best Regards,

Same as any other car. Put your efforts into
the internet rather than newspaper. I've sold
a couple of vehicles in the last 4 years and
the internet beat out the print ads in both cases.

If possible, do up a little web page with pictures.
Show all sides so there's no concealed damages.
Gunk the engine and take a picture of it all
nice and shiny. Put some text giving milage,
history, condition, location and asking price.
Post on Craig's list and appropriate newsgroups.
Appropriate newsgroups are the sale and swap
groups local to you.

Always put your location in the header.

Give it *at least* 2 weeks before getting discouraged.
We had zero nibbles for the first week and a half
on the last car we sold. Shortly thereafter, one
guy showed up with cash in his pockets demanding
the car we had already sold and a couple others
wanted to see it.

Without reading the rest of the posts, I'd suggest advertising it.
Many people find that when selling a used car, advertizing works well.
On the other hand, you could try telepathy; some do swear by it.

I'm somewhat confused by your idea that a 98 Forester is unique. What
makes it unique? The fact that it had blown headgaskets? Or are you
in the middle of the 15th century?
