How to replace instrument cluster bulbs in Outback

R

Robert Rubenstein

1. Buy Haynes Repair Manual and study it.
2. Carefully remove center panel, ash tray holder, knee bolster, switch
panel and finally instrument cluster bezel.
3. Remove instrument cluster.
4. Test bulbs with ohmmeter.
5. Buy new bulbs from Subaru dealer and replace as needed.
6. Carefully replace all parts.

Hi,

Two items revised (don't ask me how I know this...)

4. Count bulbs. Twice.

5. Buy new bulbs from Subaru dealer (or local parts shop IF they happen
to carry the right one--some do, most don't) plus one or two extra, and
replace all.
