According to the car care nut and Mr. Subaru 1387, transmissions are supposed to last until 100,000 miles, after which you are on your own, and the cost of Repair is on you. By claiming that the fluid never needs to be replaced, they keep their own warranty costs down and can advertise less time and money spent on maintenance.
It just makes sense that 30,000 miles which is approximately two years of driving is going to allow tons of condensation and debris buildup so it seems pretty counterintuitive to suggest that the fluid would never need changing.
I’m going with Japan.
