I posted this question on Stack Exchange and was recommended to try on a forum instead, so here I am.

Simply put, I can't seem to get my 2024 Solterra to stop charging at 80% when I plug in. I've had this car for about 1 1/2 years and I'm not sure if the issue I'm dealing with is user error, a programming error, or something else. My preference is for weekly charging using my home's level 2 AC charger (ChargePoint Home Flex if relevant). I saw this related question, but it sounds like for that user the settings are working, but they can't make them a default.

I've attempted to set the limit to 80% multiple times per the Owner's Manual (section 2-2). Unfortunately, almost every morning, I come out and find the vehicle's battery is charged to 100%. Notably, if I check the vehicle's charging limit, it always resets itself back to 100% even if I had set it at 80% when plugging in the night before.

The charging station's settings are setup to only allow charging to occur during low-cost nighttime hours, so I'm often not there when the charging begins. Per the charging station's setup guidance, it was recommended not using the time schedule settings for the vehicle, so I don't (though I'm re-thinking that as of late).

For reference, the typical steps I follow is:

1. I pull into my driveway, turn off the car.
2. Realize I have to set the charging limit, so I turn it back on.
3. Move through the charger settings and select 80%.
4. Turn off the car.
5. Plug in.
6. Hope it works.

Is there some mistake I'm making that's resulting in the vehicle's charging limit not holding at 80%? Is there a known programming issue with the Solterra that could be causing this issue? Is the time delay between plugging the car in and the charging system activating causing the car to reset to some prescribed default? Is there some other issue I should be looking at?

In case it's relevant, I've only had the level 2 home charger for about 4 months now. Prior to that, I just plugged into the wall. The issue may've been present prior to the level 2, but if it was I didn't notice because the charging was so much slower.
