Hello! New member, long time Subaru owner.

Hello guys! Hoping to chat with someone about my 1999 Subaru Outback. My wife was driving the other day, only about 35/40 miles per hour in our 99 outback with auto trans. It started to shake / shudder and she got it about 1/4 mile down the road. Finally it stalled out. I got to the car and it cranks and cranks but won’t turn over. I thought maybe the fuel pump had quit so we checked and it is still functional. Could it be a distributor? Is there a fuel filter between the back and the front or on the motor that may have plugged? What’s the best way to check for spark? Any insight would be helpful!

How did you chek fuel delivery?
Any recent service?
Any service overdue?

Removed the fuel line off the top, and then turned the ignition to run… good flow of fuel immediately. It’s a 99 so all I do on it at this point is oil changes. I’ll be doing some digging today.

Top of the fuel pump under the access panel behind second row seats. Fuel was the first thing I thought it would be. I even went and bought a fuel pump…wondering if there is an inline filter somewhere

What is the PSI measurement?

How about under the hood...where it is needed?

Don’t have a way to determine that. The flow off the tank was very healthy. Isn’t the psi very low? I don’t have the tools to test for psi.
