My 08 Outback has the wonderful heat shield rattle.
I was going to use the steel wool and clamp method to fix it, but when I crawled under the car, several bolts are missing all together.
I was going to remove all the remaining nuts and bolts, replace with stainless steel bolts /washers/nuts (if anyone knows a good size, ID appreciate it).
I was thinking about putting some type of padding / insulation??? between the ends of the shield and pipe, just to further reduce any chance of rattle.
Is there anything that would work and be safe?
Thanks guys!
