I upgraded all the door speakers and the tweeters about a year ago. I put jbl club 625sq in the doors and they make a crackling sound if I turn the music up all the way. I am looking to put in a new head unit hoping it might help with that issue and to get more out of the sound system itself. Will a new head unit help the issue or is there something else I should try? Also any suggestions as to what head units I should be looking at?

Depends on what is wrong. You'd have to diagnose quite a bit more. Any one or more of the connections not being good, wires and units/items. Moisture or contaminant could have gotten in someplace. If it is physical rattle and not electric... The Internet isn't likely to solve this for you.

I doubt it unless the new unit is weak on output power and imply can't drive the speakers into distortion because there's insufficient power.
