Getting the 2003 LLbean outback

I put down a dep. on a 2003 55Kmile LLbean outback.

They are a tad anemic, wonder how much the geegaws and frooferall
weigh?

Anyway, my purchase is contingent on the usual list of little things
to be fixed.

A question- does the timing chain cover get put on with a bunch of red
RTV at the factory?
This car was purchased at, and always serviced at the dealer where I'm
buying it, but they have no record of the timing cover being off.

I was surprised at the dual sunroofs, disappointed that the front one
only tilts.

Thanks for the responses to my prev questions-

Well, I don't think my wife's H6 OBW is anemic at all.
The drive train, I've read, absorbs about 20% of the power compared to
abiut 13% in a 2wd vehicle. Plus, AWD probably adds a coupla hundred
pounds. Still, her car is more than adequate to compete on the freeways
around here - one reason I got the six. Folks drive insanely here and
the margin of xtra acceleration comes in handy weekly.

Well, I'm coming off of a 4 speed 4 liter V6 ranger pickup, they're
fairly small.

The subie does have good torque throughout the rev range, just little
indication anything is happening.
