FS: 1987 Subaru GL-10 Turbo wagon (Idaho)

Overall fairly decent original condition. Was a daily driver until last spring. Runs and drives well. Well maintained, good tires, and mechanically sound as far as is known. All power windows & locks work. A/C system works, but if memory serves it needs to be charged.

Problems: The front left corner was crunched while it was parked early this year. Lower right rear quarter panel is rusted through. There's a small wrinkle in the right front fender. The sunroof glass was recently broken by a neighbor's goat (~$100 + shipping to replace from a wrecking yard). There have been a couple incidents over the last couple years that looked like some sort of computer problem, but they've been transitory so it wasn't possible to track anything down.

New parts in the last couple years:
Radiator & hoses
Radiator fan switch
Fan clutch
2 CV axles
Brake master cylinder
1 front brake caliper
1 rear brake rotor
Starter
Blower motor resistor
Rear shocks
Muffler
RF parking light
New coolant hose to the turbo
and probably a few others I don't remember.

New parts that were purchased but not installed because the car stopped being used, so they go with it:
1 front CV axle
1 set front wheel bearings & seals
1 front brake rotor

It's worth what someone will pay for it, so make an offer and we'll go from there.

The car is located in Idaho. I'm not the owner, but I've done the maintenance & repairs on this car the last few years, so I'm very familiar with it.

I'm kinda surprised there hasn't been more interest in this car. I thought being a high-end model someone would want it. I hope someone buys it so I don't have to scrap it.

Humans today can't fix or keep anything running on their own, so they buy new and spend they time and money on trying to get their phones to connect to the cars. lol Old cars rock.

I wonder how much this is. I've been looking for a subaru wagon, first car too. I wanted something easy to repair and super reliable. I hear a rust prevention coating is the best thing you can do for a car like this one. As it's a known problem with these older subaru cars.

ill offer 3.5k.I'll take a higher suggestion if that's too low. I'd like to buy it in November so I have the time to save for everything it might need if it breaks down. You said you drove it regularly but since It's older and has been sitting for a while I hope it won't be too bad for long distances after sitting for such a long time.

I've got that offer. 1.2k but with shipping cost I'd have to take if off your hands in July. The car has been sitting for a while so im not sure it should be going that far without a check up. And I've never driven cross country before. I'm all the way over in ga so I don't think I could spare the time between work with my inexperience. It's a much better plan than a November pick up for you. And the car would be out of your hair sooner than way later. We can swap numbers for the details at the end of January if you're interested.

I don't know a reason the car wouldn't make it that far, but I'd never recommend trying such a long trip with any old car without a real thorough check-over.

OK that's good to hear we may be able to resolve this issue soon. How unfortunate such an error has occurred. Messaging is a very important part of any forum after all. We can wait for the issue to be resolved but if not I'll just give you my email here later.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it was probably something like that. So I guess we both just have to spam the forum 5 times then. I'd suggest you could maybe just flip the appropriate switches in our profiles since it's pretty clear neither of us is a spambot, but I suppose you've already thought of that possibility.

It would be helpful if that info were posted somewhere findable, like maybe on the error message that comes up when I try to send a PM.

OK that's great. Ah I'll ask some questions. How was the timing belts on the car when you last drove it. I want to figure out when I'd need to replace them.

I'm sure you saw my PM by now; Griffin made a change so that works.

I forgot to mention timing belts because I didn't do that repair, it was done by someone else. They were changed I think less than 10K miles ago, so are good to go for a while. The owner has the exact number.
