Forester Security Upgrade - Siren Not Working

I installed the "Security Upgrade Kit" in my 2003 Forester, and all
seems well, with one exception...

One of the items of the kit is a siren, mounted under the hood.
When I arm the system, and open a door with the key, the horn honks
like crazy, lights flash, but no siren.

I always disarm the system immediately, so maybe the siren doesn't cut
in for a few seconds?
Or maybe it doesn't work at all???

How is the siren supposed to fit in with the security system?

My security upgrade kit for my 03 Legacy didn't include a siren, but another
horn that mounted to the a/c condenser. Try opening your hood, arming the
system, and then open a door -(with adequate ear protection!) check and see
if the new alarm horn/siren is working. There is no delay on the alarm horn.
