HI,
After my rear brakes were replaced on my 2015 Forester for the first time a month ago, including rotors, my emergency brakes were no longer effective. On a hill with the brake set, the car rolls. The shop said the emergency brakes do not work because they brakes were replaced and are 'shinny.' Are the emergency brakes independent of the hydraulic brakes or is the shop's explanation plausible? I was told to use my emergency brakes often when coming to a stop to 'rough them up,' but doesn't the Forester have separate emergency brake shoes?
Thanks,
Dennis
