Hi all,
I'm rebuilding a 1993 EJ22 and I've got two openings on the top of the block which I can't account for; they appear to open into the coolant passages but I'm not sure what connects back up into them. Nothing in my box of parts from the teardown matches, and none of the service manuals I've been scouring make any specific mention of them.
The first one is on the front side of the block, driver's side (center of the photo, the other threaded holes are blind mounting holes):
The second one is on the rear passenger's side of the block, almost under the coolant crossover pipe (right of center in this shot):
Any help on what those are and any parts references are much appreciated!
