EJ-22 in 99' Legacy SUS

I just bought a 99' Legacy SUS with 260k miles on it. Doing some research I found that this model typically came with a 2.5L engine. The car runs great and has no major issues. I'm not sure what the mileage is on the engine but, I was wondering what are some things I need to worry about or look for with this engine? Any tips or just general knowledge of this year and model of Legacy would be great as well, thanks!

Those are tough old motors, the big thing on any 2.5 of that era is head gaskets, so watch for coolant seeping at the heads or the temp gauge creeping up. If you do not know when the timing belt and water pump were last done, just do them, cheap insurance at 260k. A little rattle on cold starts is normal piston slap on these and nothing to lose sleep over. Did it come with any service records?

It didn't come with any records, the last owner had it for 10+ years and said they kept up on all the maintenance. They did mention that breaks and tires are less than a year old and the last oil change was this last June. Forgot to mention in the description it looks like it was swapped for the EJ22 rather than the 2.5L.
