Does Stop/Start By-pass or CVT fluid change create a problem with warranty?

I have a 2020 Subaru Forester that was purchased as a used vehicle from a local Subaru dealer. I also purchased a bumper to bumper warranty for five years. I have talked with the dealer about installing a stop/start bypass and they say that they can't do it; that it violates California law. I researched what they said and it does not appear to be a violation of law. Furthermore, there seems to be some past litigation that was successful in arguing that a start/stop by-pass did not violate the warranty because it was not making stop/start inoperable. So...I'm either going to install the by-pass myself or have someone do it...but wanted some opinions from others on the warranty concern. I read my warranty and it says that any modification to the system may be an issue. It's just not very clear. I am also having an issue with changing the CVT fluid as the local dealer follows the Subaru America guideline that the CVT fluid is a "lifetime fluid" and, as such, the dealer won't change it out. So, I'm a bit upset as I'm convinced after doing considerable research that CVT fluid is not a "lifetime fluid". Besides, what do they mean by "lifetime"? The life of the transmission or ??? I firmly believe that the guidlines in place by Subaru America as to CVT fluid changes are wrong. All that said, I have a warranty the covers the CVT but worry that having a third party, reputable repair shop change out the fluid might create a warranty issue for me. Opinions and suggestions would be appreciated. I'm thinking about talking with the local dealer about all this as well. Given the potential costs of repairs for CVT related issues, I want to make sure I do the right thing.

I know you've been here before, but all you need to do is install an Autostopeliminator.
Do not do as you did before and go to Amazon. Go directly to autostopeliminator.com and buy directly from them.
Type in your make, model, and trim level and then buy as directed and follow the instructions provided implicitly Instruction videos can be found on their web site.
Do not deviate.
No, it does not violate any warranty or laws. It simply plugs in and you can even take it with you. The car remains stock.
Should you want to have the car behave normally, it can be switched on and off. All it does is remember your setting for Autostop/start between inigtion cycles.
If you turn auto stop off, it stays off, if you re-enable, it stays enabled until you turn it off again.
If you sell or trade the car, you can unplug it and take it with you. The car remains as stock as it was off the factory floor.

Thanks. I’ll check it out now and get it ordered. I’m running into discrepancies between what the dealer is saying and the rest of the free world<G>

They don't call dealerships stealerships for no reason.
Likewise there is likely no case in history where warranty was ever denied for doing excessive or too many oil changes. A layer would likely call that laughable.

one caveat on the fluid change, make sure they use actual Subaru CVT fluid, made by IDemitsu. Do not use "universal CVT fluid" from the parts store. You don't need to buy it from the dealer, but online subaru parts places have it at reasonable cost, ours took a little less than 6 quarts.
Whoever does it should know what they're doing, car level, and the transmission at the correct temperature (verified with a scan tool). The new cars are very touchy on the fluid level. Try and find a private shop that specializes in Subys

Lifetime fluid is either a scam to shorten the life of your car, or a scam to artificially deflate the "cost of ownership, either way it's garbage information.
Also, i think it's important to note that Subaru of Japan recommends replacing the CVT fluid every 3 years, or 30k miles, but then again they don't live in a country where everything is a borderline criminal enterprise.

Or their gubberment doesnt try to influence auto design with idiotic mandates.

some are idiotic, like electric seat belts, eventually called stranglers by people who got stuck with them. We had a 92 Jaguar with em, i went to a yard and pulled a normal system out of a newer XJ to replace them,

others not so bad. I'd rather have a car with air-bags than not. Brain stem injuries are no joke, either fatal or Quadriplegic.

start stop using the starter is stupid, but toyota and mazda have a system that doesn't use the starter.
Also, let's say your unlucky enough to live in a city where 1 hour traffic jams, creeping along, are normal. There's 500 cars around you, all idling exhaust gas. You're breathing that crap, not my idea of a great place to be but start-stop here would be good.

I would like it where the system is default off, and you have the option to use it in heavy traffic, construction zones., etc. Or, since our cars are constantly spying on us anyway now, it looks at a real-time traffic report and decides the 25 mile-backup on the freeway your on warrants start-stop function.

Not sure about the AC though, middle of summer, 105 out, I'm guessing with engine off the AC compressor is dead too?

Math, science and engineering were never your strong suits were they?

It was the fact that you used hybrids as an example that tipped me off that science and engineering weren't your strong suits.

what on earth are you talking about Dick? the only word Hybrid on this page is your post. Maybe you got this mixed up with a different topic?
This thread is about start stop on a gasoline engine and tranny fluid

On the autostart/stop eliminator. I bought the kit, have tried 2x now to install it. The connectors in the console appear to be permanently installed in my 2025 Limited. As in I can't unsnap them safely avoiding damage to the connectors. I did email them, (the manufacturer) and am waiting on a response, but I'm very disappointed if I can't get this part in, its annoying as heck to turn it off on the screen each time I start my car, and I invariably forget to do that.

I'm surprised that no one has figured out which wire(s) to just cut to make this silly "feature" stop working. Sticking to my old cars without all of this useless expensive tech.

Getting and installing Autostop Eliminator doest as all it does is plug into the CAN buss.

BTW This idiotic crap is short for this world as the Trump administration is putting a bullet it it's head. Autostop is being eliminated for good, nation wide.

Your comment about Trump pretty firmly establishes your political leanings and mindset…and intellect.

Yeah I'm not only a only conservative but I voted for Trump three times. Someone had to save this nation from the heathins, idiots and unwased masses.

I'm not a republican but I do despise politicians under any flag and belieive parties should be done away with and politicians limited to a single term in office at a time.
Since you question my intellect.
I also served this nation in war, have a dozen patents and have a 140 IQ. What's yours? My guess, you're just barely 100 if even that. It seems you're unable to learn from history, and how stupid is that?

I'm not a nut. If anyone here is the nut here, it's you, loser.
What contributions have you made to mankind, other that wasting space, food and oxygen?
Where have you been and what have you accomplished?
Been anywhere, done anything? I doubt it.
So far, you've just run your mouth and said nothing. Typical.
Either say something worthwhile or shut up.

I remember you now. You're the clown that couldn't pull off plugging the Autostop Eliminator in even with instructions and botched it.
That figures. A complete, technically, incompetent, idiot.

BTW I'll soon be vacating The Peoples Republic of the Californicated. Finally after far too many years in the insane asylum run by its inmates, I've manged to pull the plug and I'm moving back to America.
