I have a 2025 Forester. Overall I really like the vehicle. However the sensor on the door handles to lock and unlock the doors drives me nuts. I leave the car unlocked in the garage, and so many times when I go to open the door, it locks the doors on me right as I’m trying to open it. Same thing if I’m in a parking lot. I’ll unlock it using the button on my keyfob as I’m walking to the car, and then the doors will lock on me right as I’m trying to open them. I am trying to avoid touching the sensor, but it almost seems like the whole handle activates the locks.
Is there any way to disable this sensor, or at the very least? The only thing I found in the manual also makes it where I can’t start the car. (Open the door, manually move the lock lever to lock then hold the lock and gate buttons on the fob for five seconds).
