Dealership remote start is garbage

Do not buy a factory remote start for a 2018 legacy. I made this mistake and now I'm paying for it... The second you open any door or even the trunk, remote start shuts off. Don't bother starting your hoping it will defrost in the winter. Does not turn on anything but the rear defroster. Even setting the vents too defrost your front windows does not work. Best bet is either having a garage you can park in, buying a cover, or buying an aftermarket remote start and hope it works better than the dealership one.

I bought my remote start on 2018 legacy when I bought the car in 2020. And I had to have it replaced not 3 years later. Had to wait an extra week for the remote start to come in. Most useless remote start i have ever had to deal with
