I was getting ready to leave this morning and plugged my phone into the USB. Started playing through Apple CarPlay for about a minute when there was a sudden high-pitched tone for 30 seconds or so. Unplugged phone, after plugging back in, the podcast I was listening to played according to the display, but there was no sound. Attempted connecting through bluetooth: no sound. Attempted listening to radio: no sound.
I've seen similar-ish threads, but they have not mentioned the high-pitched tone, which makes me think a fuse may have blown or something along those lines.
It was a cold morning so the defrost and fans were on high as this happened, but those continue to function.
Any advice or similar experiences? Would love to not have to take this in for what would undoubtedly be an expensive service visit.
