Connecting smartphone to Android Auto

My question is, has anyone had a problem connecting a smart phone (Samsung A12 about 4 years old ) to their Android Auto in a Sub. Forester MY24.The phone works perfectly in hands free mode. but I can't get the Apps to appear in the Forester's screen. I might add I have set up my wife's Samsung S10, and have had no issues. I have conducted all the obligatory updates and even contacted Samsung ... no joy !

Hello. Check that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned on. I have the same problem on the outback. Periodically does not connect. The dealer can not say anything useful. I will return the car to the seller if the problem is not fixed. Fuel consumption 17 miles per gallon is not 27 as promised by Subaru. Wireless charging does not work and only heats up the smartphone, checked on both Samsung and iPhone

Thanks for your answer. I have now had the problem resolved ( by the Subaru dealership at (Liverpool Sydney).Their techo guy is really switched on.The problem turned out to be the connecting cable.I never gave it a thought as my S10 hooked up with out a hitch ??? My newest problem I have now, is trying to add new icons (apps) to the Customise Launcher. I don't know whether they are compatible or not ?
