Clutch not working 2000 rx 2.0

If I select a gear and release the clutch, nothing happens, with the clutch released I can put it in any gear easy not crunching and makes no sound at all, rolling it it made no sound and while running still makes no sound, was told it’s the clutch but i don’t believe it, any ideas would help a lot thanks
