carplay and flash drive use at the same time???

Hi! I have a 2021 Crosstrek. I want to use carplay and play music from a flash drive at the same time. Which doesn't seem to be possible. I do not have the ability to put music on my phone (it's a work phone) has anyone used a usb splitter to see if that takes care of the problem? I'm pretty sure it's a subaru thing, I've ridden in other cars and been able to do both at the same time.

If you plug both the phone and USB into the ports beneath the infotainment system, then press the SOURCE button on the wheel it will scroll through the sources. It's pretty doubtful though, that you will be able to listen to the music from the USB while using CarPlay for maps, which is probably what you are trying to achieve here. Either way, those 2 ports are the only viable options, as the ones in the armrest are power only, not comm... Good luck!
