Car revving up going down the highway

While on cruise control or not my 2020 turbo outback will rev up from 1900rpms to around 2400rpms and make a slight whistling noise for about 1 second and go back to normal. In about a 15 mile span it may do it about 6-8 times. Doesn’t seem to hurt the performance of the car and check engine light is not showing up. What could this possibly be ?

It sounds like Lokemup is right. From what I've read, it sounds like possible CVT chain/belt slip. Suggest having it checked out by a qualified mechanic ASAP. Delay could result in a big repair bill. Good luck.
