Hello all, Greetings!
I had a 2011 Legacy and just three weeks ago transmission went bad after 220,000 miles. Such a reliable car!
Now waiting for the new Legacy to come in. Here is my question.
I always thought Legacies are made in Subaru factory in Indiana but my dealer told me that it comes from Japan. Is that correct? Are the Legacies made in Japan? What is made in Indiana plant?

Thank you

Kaz

Hi Kaz, I'm new to the Legacy but on my window sticker for my 2022 it says that the Port/Assembly was in Lafayette, IN and the parts content is 50% U.S/Canadian and 35% Japan. Engine and Transmission are from Japan.

My local dealer told me that all Legacy's are assembled in Indiana. Main assemblies shipped from Japan, but the rest from all over The U.S. and Canada. 31 Plants in TN supply parts to their Indiana plant.
