Benefits of Frameless Windows?

Any positive reasons why Subaru uses frameless windows?

Yesterday I was again reminded of one of the down sides on a long
highway trip with cross winds gusting over 40 mph coming from the
right. The periods of wind noise coming from the driver side window
during the higher winds, as its top get pushed or sucked out are
quite annoying.

I am not a fan of the frameless windows - there is too much wind noise - but
I imagine that one advantage is improved visibility because the window can
be larger without the frame.

Cheers!

Lighter doors.

It gives a sportier look, especially when the doors are open, and the
wind noise will tell you outside weather conditions, along with the
outside temp gauge.))

I was driving over a very tall bridge the other day, and my Impreza
wagon was rocking a bit from strong winds, and I didn't notice any
wind noise. Maybe yours need to be adjusted.

They are on the way out. Imprezas and I think the Tribeca have frames now.

I like mine because they freeze to the rubber gasket when they get wet
and the temperature drops below freezing.

Yeah, me too. I particularly like pulling really hard on the hatch handle so
I can climb in and open the doors from the inside....rather than break off a
door handle.

I get great joy spraying the rubber with a teflon lub (some say PAM works
too) during the winter months instead.

Weight. Framless doors are lighter. They're also easier to design and
assemble.
