Anyone have any luck using radiator sealant?

I think my 2004 80k miles (guy before me put in an engine from Japan that had 61k miles on it) and autoguy said creamy fluid came rushing out when he went to change the oil and it was very overfilled. We're assuming it's the head gasket going. Has anyone has any luck using that sealant stuff that you pour in? Also there's a gas leak that it in a weird spot so I may to say goodbye to my Subey way earlier than I was planning. I may be done with them altogether.
