I have a 2024 Outback and on a couple of occasions when using fob to open the door the alarm has gone off for no apparent reason. With lights flashing, wife jumping around me and audible alarm drawing a crowd I somehow, in panic mode, manage to deactivate the alarm. Cannot recall how I stopped alarm . Anyone had a similar experience - why alarms goes off and how to stop it.
Many thanks

What does the manual say? Maybe you've held or double tapped the button and it triggered the panic?

Many thanks. Will check the manual if I can unravel the vast amount of information on alarm system and variations - nothing very simple

Once 2010 hit Subaru...everything got, worse. But they're selling a ton of vehicles with good ratings. The new cars are like driving an appliance, not a driver's car anymore.

More like NEEDING A PASSENGER JET's PILOTS LICENSE !!!

After trying to figure out all the Twists & Turns in my Subaru Owner's Manual , I decided that FLYING A 747 SUPER-JUMBO would be EASIER !!!

Per The Owners Manual:

If You Have Accidentally Triggered the Alarm System

To stop the alarm

Do any of the following operations:
. Press any button on the access key fob/
remote transmitter.
. Turn the ignition switch to the “ON”
position (models without “keyless ac-
cess with push-button start system”).
. Turn the push-button ignition to the
“ACC” position (models with “keyless
access with push-button start system”).

NOTE:
Only registered keys will stop the
alarm. If the immobilizer transponder
is not registered, the alarm will not
stop.
