Car:
2007 Subaru Legacy Bp5 Spec B with Macintosh sound system

Problem:
Sound travels through the DIN cable from the amp under passy seat to the factory unit which produces sound. Sound source is the DIN cable. I cannot find out if or how to adapt this cable to the aftermarket harness or if I need to replace the amp.

Purchased an aftermarket head unit. Ripped out all of the factory Subaru sound boxes from under the seat, in the glove box etc. Have it down to bare bones to see where the problem is. DIN cable from amp to factory unit is the problem. Nothing in my kit converts this cable. Seems to be a unique cable. Am I looking to splice some wires, buy an adapted of some kind, or buy a new amp.

If anyone here has done this conversion, please help out - going on 1 months of on and off messing with it to see what I can do, which is how I got to stripping it all to find the real cause.

I have photos of everything. Ask and you shall receive. But if you have dealt with this, you're who I want to talk to, if you haven't but can offer insights, please do.

Call Crutchfield. The 2005-2009 Legacies are tough for stereo installs. There's a TON of info about it on the LegacyGT forum.
