I have a 96 legacy with an intermittent cylinder 3 misfire code. I've already replaced the plugs, wires, coil pack, and knock sensor. I'm still getting this error periodically on the highway. Usually causes me to have to pull over, because the engine runs rough and won't accelerate. If I turn it off on the side of the road and back on it'll smooth out enough to drive, but it idles rough. I've also noticed it runs worse with the AC on and the AC compressor's been kicking on even with the system turned off.
At this stage, I'm a bit confused as to what could be doing this. In my job, normally an issue that's this sporadic is electrical, so I'm wondering if it's something in the ECM or relays.
I'm hoping someone can give me a starting point so I can work on it before winter sets in, since I don't have a garage.
