90's Legacy Wagon, not Outback (Brighton? or base) stalling problem

I'm looking at a 90's Legacy wagon, 335,000 miles (!!) but nice engine and
trans, but has a habit of intermittantly stalling out 20 minutes after
fully warming up.

The car is in decent shape, the trans was recently replaced (although with
a FWD trans and not an AWD trans) and the motor is strong; the car appears
in good shape, but the new owner said it was stalling after 20 minutes,
but can't duplicate the failure.

Any ideas?

The guys over at www.ultimatesubaru.org are very good at helping folks
keep older subes running. If no help here, I'd try over there.

(sounds like a sensor is failing at temp - but.....)
