What are people paying the dealer for the 15,000 miles service if I only
have done what is mandatory in the manual to take care of the warranty?? Ed

I have a 2002 Forester, it is serviced at Nashua Subaru, NH.

I paid $180.95 for the 15k service.. I had recently installed my winter
wheels, and this amount did not include wheel rotation and balancing.

I don't have the manual in front of me, but as
I recall, most of it was just inspect, adjust
top off as needed. I did it all myself and just
made a notation in the manual and dated and initialed
it.

If you register your car at http://my.subaru.com/login/login.jsp you
can find the list of recommended maintenance items at their mileage
intervals and make a list for yourself.

Here's what they list for a 97 Outback at 15K.

Action Description
------------------------------------------------
Inspect Clutch and hill-holder system
Inspect Steering and suspension
Perform Inspect brake lines and check operation of parking and
service brake system
Inspect Disc brake pads and discs, front and rear axle boots
and axle shaft joint portions
Replace Engine oil filter
Replace Engine oil
