2020 WRX shifter

Is it common for the shifters to wear out. Mine is sloppy as hell. Anyone make a decent shifter?

It is likely the rubber in the knuckle. I put poly ones in mine. Try Google.

How hard are they to change?

Mine is a few bolts and one pin. Not easy to work up in there, but certainly possible. Some folks do it from the top. There are other bits that it could be. Worth doing a little research on a proper forum for your vehicle.

Those pics look like they are for an older model. Mine is a 2020 and uses a cable.

I dont think its the cable cable end bushing, the stick moves the lever 1:1. Stick has 1/2" play in each gear. Maybe the trans is worn out.

I know the cable shifts it, so what are these rods for. I dont see them under the car.

Could most of the slop be in the stay rod (E) bushings?
