2020 Subaru Forrester Touring coolant consumption question

My 2020 Subaru Forrester is consuming or discharging coolant. I noticed only by every few months having to add coolant to the coolant reservoir. It has not just happened and as I stated not a drastic use. I took a photo of the reservoir cold today noting the level and dated it so I can track it more closely.
I do not see any cracks in the reservoir. I change the oil myself and have not seen any water/coolant in the oil. The exhaust does not look or smell unusual either. And no puddles of coolant under the vehicle which I would not expect with the current coolant loss.
Any ideas on where the issue may be or if there is an issue at all?
I know on previous vehicles I have owned I have always had to top off the coolant every so often.
Bob

You did not state the mileage of your car but coolant loss often gives a telltale white color to the exhaust. There are test kits you can buy to check for exhaust gas in the coolant but a simple test is try opening the radiator cap (engine cold), start the engine and see if you can detect exhaust gas (or bubbles) coming from liquid in the radiator. If there appears to be exhaust gas in the cooling system the most probable cause is a head gasket leak. On my 2021 Subaru I added (for the first time) about a cup of coolant after 90,000 miles.

Coolant loss has plagued Subaru for a long time. Your dealer has a product called Subaru Cooling System Conditioner. Should be about $8-10 at the dealership, about $7 plus shipping from Amazon, no shipping if you are a prime customer.

This stuff really works and it does not damage the cooling system at all. But you need to get a bottle in before the coolant loss gets any worse. After that, you will need new head gaskets.

BTW, this is NOT a "head gasket repair in a bottle". I am just finishing up an engine where that stuff was used and if I had to do it over again, I would have just scrapped the motor and got a reman from a quality builder like 2JR or ATK.

I have use the Subaru conditioner not only in my Subaru but also in my Silverado when it started losing coolant. I've put on almost 100k on the Silverado and almost 150k on the Subaru since putting this stuff in. No issues.
