Hi All

I have an April 2014 Forester with an FB25 Engine and TR580 Auto Transmission.

On sunday just gone, I was towing my little trailer, with a new fridge, (standing up) and a new sideboard, also part of it standing.
(important because of drag).
On the last leg home, there was massive head wind (remember the fridge and sideboard standing up) but getting along ok, a steady 95km/hr or so. I wasnt worried, had time, all was running well.

Then suddenly, the Auto Trans Overtemp light came on, warning chimes alerted. I was able to immediately pull over, and check indications, nothing adverse under the bonnet, no smoke,

I pulled the manual out and checked, it said pull over, idle the engine to let it cool down.

The Amber Check Engine light was also on, and three others, related to Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, and the ABS.

It wasn't safe I was, and only 2km further on is a large road side complex. So I drove to there, still with the trailer.

I got there, let the car idle for about 20 minutes, and then shut it down and waited.
Later, Ms Hay Ewe came by with a another vehicle, and towed the trailer home and I just drove the Suby.

At some stage, I think it was at the inital Red warnign light, the gearbox S symble started flashing, and when I move the gear lever to the right, there is no change, it is in fully auto mode, I think it might be gear limited as well, as the RPM tacho indicates a little bit higher than normal.

As well, the symbol for the Cruise control flashes.

Today a garage looked at it, first opportunity, and they report the following codes :-
P0700 - Trans Control System Fault
P2763 - Lock up duty Solonoid fault.

Neither of these codes show in the Haynes workshop manual that I have.
The garage wasn't able to give any more indication than that.
They did reset the codes, but after driving about 100meters, the lights all come back on.

Whilst driving, all seems normal. Though I realise that I havent checked the brakes fully, does the ABS actually work?
I shall try that in the morning.

I am not sure where to go from here.
It seems to me that the ABS / Hill Start, and Traction Control are unrelated, but for some reason, illuminated.

I do have a rear wheel bearing that needs a change, but that these lights came on at the same time as the Auto Trans Over Temperature seems to be related, but not related.

Have had this Forester for 2.5 years, first problem. Have been around Suby's since 1981, and been great so far!

I do have a video of the dash panel, but I dont know how to post it on this forum.

Thank you for reading, looking forward to help and suggestions!

Post the video on a service like YouTube and then post the link here.

ahh, good idea, Thank you @bmart

That is a link to short video.

I did a brake check this morning, no ABS

Thank you

EXACTLY "What" did you do to check the ABS .... ???
I am not privy to any "TEST" , besides driving on ICE , Snow , or some other slippery road surface that will positively indicate ABS "Op" OR "NoOp' .... !!!
Please Clarify ... !!!

I had that happen to my 2014 Outback. It was the beginning of the end of my transmission unfortunately. I had about 155,000 miles then had to get rid of the car. At the time(3 years ago) it was a complete transmission replacement and I did not want to spend that on the car with that many miles. I actually needed to get a bigger car anyway.

I did go to a 'specialist' Subarubaru mechanic shop yesterday and they diagnosed some valves in the auto trans valve body unit thing that are flagging codes.
They couldn't help me but did direct me to another place that can and are replacing the valve body unit and carrying out a fluid change.

They tell me that this will fix the dash panel warning lights and return it to normal functioning.

I might be wrong, but I suspect the American version of P2763 is The TCC Sub-System Clutch Solenoid : that amounts to the "Over-Drive" version of Christopher_Columbus' World : The Transmission Converter Clutch , which stops the hydraulic "slippage" and the Waste Heat from the Torque Converter ; and essentially puts the Transmission in a Direct-Coupling-Mode.
