2013 legacy wont to over 5mph

Friend got a 2013 legacy with 2.5. Was told throttle body need replaced. After replacing and going thru relearn 3 times it still will not go over 5mph. Took it on the street and will die at times. Idles fine and no check engine light on. 2nd thing is the throttle body I took off had coolant lines to it the new used one they got had no fittings for coolant lines and I could not get them out from the one I took off. Does it really matter? Any help would be great to get this thing running on the road.
