2008 Black Subaru Forester available for parts car or engine rebuild/replace

I just got the news that my trusted 2008 Forester's engine requires an engine rebuild/replacement. It's still running but there's a loud knock and vibration. It's a shame because we just ticked over 100,000 miles this summer and I just put money into replacing brakes and making some emission improvements. Selling cheap for parts and/or rehabilitation.

Like selling how cheap? I have gotten only two offers, none from here, for $500 and $700 on the 2004 Legacy in this for sale / trade. Pathetic.
