Hello everyone,
I recently bought a 2007 Legacy as a project car, and I’ve run into a few issues while driving it.
First, there’s a whirring noise coming from the middle rear area of the car. The sound changes with vehicle speed. I watched this video (the noise is very similar):
@ 1:40. However, when I was under the car, the prop shaft didn’t seem to be making as much noise as in the video. The wheel bearings have already been replaced. Is there anything else I should check before I go ahead and buy a new prop shaft?
Additionally, I suspect the engine and transmission mounts may need replacing. I took a video from underneath the car while shifting through gears (
), and the engine/trans assembly seems to bounce quite a bit. Is this amount of movement normal, or do the mounts need to be replaced?
Thanks for your help!
