2007 Legacy 2.5 GT sedan sometimes sluggish

B

Bill Bradley

I've noticed that, at times, my acceleration seems sluggish or impaired.

I have the 5-speed automatic, and, usually leave the performance setting in
"S" mode.

The car is usually peppy and responsive, quite often revving up over 3-4
grand with a slight press on the pedal, and zipping along.

But, at times, the car seems to be being held back, and, unless I floor the
pedal, it seems to be limiting itself to 2-2.5 grand.

This has happened at odd times, both when the engine is cold (blue light on,
disallowing SI mode) and hot, but, it happens after I start the car and for
the period of driving until I turn it off again, not during driving.

I have the 11,750 checkup next Saturday, so am going to mention this
behavior, but, is this something known, or unique?

Thanks!

Hmmm....maybe not related but I will mention reading about folks feeling
odd hesitation or bucking when decelerating at around 2-2.5K rpms. Dunno
if its related though. And it was in previous year models, though still
'recent'.

just fyi

Guy at the Subaru parts desk the other day said the drive by wire in his
MY05 can be a bit touchy at times.

Hi,
Is this random or does it have certain pattern. You may be experiencing
flat spot?

For instance, yesterday...I first drove the car out of the garage at ~1130,
and, it felt sluggish. Went to a restaurant to eat lunch, and, on the way
back home, it felt normal, again.

Previous times, it felt normal during the initial drive, and then sluggish
on a later drive.

It's Winter, so, it's colder than normal, but, yesterday was in high 40's
(we live in Denver, CO, area).

Thanks.

I'm sure it has something to do with than. I had horrible problems in my
2006 Outback with acceleration in general, that Subaru could never fix.

I don't think they have it right, yet...

Thanks.

I've read of that, and don't know if it's the same or not.

Will mention it to the dealer, Saturday, though...

Thanks!
