Hi members. I have a 1997 Outback that is in excellent condition. Until today when a front wheel began making metal-on-metal noises while driving. When brakes are applied, the noise stops. I'm assuming the problem is somewhere in the brake hardware, and I'm just looking for input as to which brake hardware is likely to blame. . While I'm hearing the noise, the brakes seem to be working fine.
If the noise might be from something other than brakes, please advise.
The car is in great shape but I don't want to spend a lot of repair money on it.
Thanks very much.
