1996 Subaru Legacy Parking light issue

I seem to be having an issue with my parking lights not shutting off when I
turn off the headlights and stay on when I shut the car off and take out
the key. Has anyone heard of this or had it happen. Is this a switch issue
or a computer? I pulled the fuse, and pulled the battery cable off tring to
see if it will reset the computer but nothing seems to work. Any
suggestions?

check the switch on top of the steering column. Likely got hit during
detailing or something.

I assume you have checked that the parking lights aren't switched on.
(You will be aware that Subarus have the extrememely useful feature of
a separate switch for the parking lights because you will have read
about it in the manual.)
