Hey guys, so I got a 1993 Impreza a few weeks ago. When I got the car the heat would only work when the car was actually driving. When I would first turn on the car and let it warm up it wouldn’t turn on. After a week or 2 the heat stopped working even after the car was driving for a bit and fully warmed up. Last week the heat came on when the car was just idling warming up but it was blowing cold air even after it got up to temp. Now the heat stopped working. So I unplugged the blower motor resistor and blower motor and tested them with a test light. Both seem to have power (or ground idk which wires are which honestly) so I plugged them back in. Boom the heat starts working again. So just for shits and giggles I turned the car off, turned it back on now nothing again. What would the issue be? A couple of my buddies told me it’s probably the resistor but I have a weird feeling it’s the blower motor relay causing the issue. I don’t wanna just start throwing money at the thing only for it to still not fix anything. If it helps the motor isn’t original. One of the previous owners swapped in a 2.0 from an 04 sti and the wiring is a rats nets under the steering wheel and it doesn’t have ac.
